On Wednesday, October 29, 2025, with the participation of the President’s Assistants of the University, representatives from the College of Science, the General Director of the Scientific Research Centers, and a number of faculty members and students, a seminar was presented by Mr. Khalid Omar Abbas, the General Director of the Independent High Electoral Commission – Duhok Office.

Topics of the Seminar

During the seminar, several important subjects were discussed related to the election process, including the legal aspects of elections, the fundamental importance of voting, and the key role of the Commission in ensuring transparency and fairness throughout the electoral process — as a foundation of democracy.

Mr. Abbas emphasized the importance of recognizing that voting is both a national duty and a civic responsibility, explaining that it transforms from a theoretical concept into an act of personal commitment and effective leadership. He highlighted that voting is the most powerful way for citizens to make their voices heard and shape the political decisions that affect their daily lives.
